Grandpa Captain Biorhythm took his granddaughter Hannah to the San Diego Comic Con in 2007 to interview potential Heroes and Heroines. She was his third cub reporter who did a phenomenal job interviewing artists, actors and costumed characters at the Comic Convention.
Hannah asked 3 questions:
Who are the Heroes in your life?
How do people become Heroes?
Who are the unsung Heroes in our society that do not get the recognition they deserve?
Lauren Faust was one of the very special ladies Hannah had the opportunity to interview at the San Diego Comic Convention. She was kind enough to autograph one of her special books to Hannah and her sister Lauren. Hannah was so excited and grateful, she clutched the book to her chest and would not put it down.
Some how, with all the hustle and bustle at the Comic Con, Hannah’s autographed book disappeared. She did not realize it until she got home Friday night.
When Hannah realized it was gone, she was near tears and begged Nana (her grandmother) to immediately call the lost and found at the Comic Con in hopes someone turned in her beloved book.
Of course there was no good news. Very few attendees would return a hand-autographed book by Lauren Faust. It will probably turn up on EBay for an high price.
On Saturday, Lauren and Hannah went to Lauren’s booth and told her their tragic tale. Lauren just smiled that special super hero smile, grabbed her pen and another book and autographed it on the spot. Also she bestowed on the girls a bonus of awesome pins to attach to their name badges.
Needless to say, both girls were overjoyed. I put the valuable book in rolling suitcase with all my digital video and photo equipment for safe keeping.
Hannah and Lauren both helped at the Masquerade until 1 AM. They were real troopers and stayed awake and positive long after most of the adults had burned out.
Saturday was definitely a day to remember. Check out the photos of the Masquerade by clicking this link.
